Common or full brick

It should not be read as proof that every listed product is load-bearing, exterior-rated, or suitable for severe moisture exposure. Confirm whether the exact unit is intended for structural masonry, backup work, exposed work, or another defined application.

Facebrick

Manufacturers may offer several reds in smooth, glazed, wirecut, flashed, or variegated finishes. Appearance is central to the category, but exposed work still requires an appropriate unit, compatible installation materials, and suitable wall detailing.

How to estimate brick quantities without using a misleading universal rate

Wall, paving, and thin-veneer quantities must be calculated separately. They use different exposed faces, joints or gaps, patterns, and installation systems.

Single-leaf wall calculation

For a simple single-leaf wall, begin with net wall area:

Net wall area = gross wall area − doors − windows − other openings

Then calculate the brick module:

Module length = actual brick length + specified vertical joint

Module height = actual brick height + specified bed joint

Module area = module length × module height

Finally:

Estimated face-brick count = net wall area ÷ module area

Measure returns, piers, caps, corners, steps, sills, and other details separately, then add them to the base quantity.

Worked hypothetical wall example

Assume, purely for planning, that a brick has:
