Toggle Joints / Universal Joints

A Toggle joint is a modified bushing that includes a perpendicular connector hole. Early versions had teeth on the the bottom and face. This element formed the basis of construction with the toothed elements. As this system was phased out a new version without teeth was introduced. A piston rod is the name given to the early toggle joint and is based on its early use as a piston rod in Technic engine construction.
